Taking back the control

Yesterday I was going through some old random photos on the computer and I came across one of my feet on the scales saying "84.3kg" The lowest weight I have been since having the band. Sadly, over the past year I have put on 6kg and am now at around 90kg. I was thinking about what I was doing differently that I'm not doing now, and one thing I do remember doing is tracking what I was eating. It was making me aware of what I was putting into my mouth, how many calories everything had and what exercise I was doing to keep the weighloss going. So I'm going to start logging everything again on

The scales have officially died, and need new batteries, so I don't know what I weigh at the moment, but all my clothes feel a tad looser.. which is a good thing as they were starting to feel a little snug there!

Gym tonight, just a cardio workout and perhaps a light weighs session to help strengthen my wrist and tomorrow morning I'll go for my usual 6:15am spin class! I'm not relishing the thought of getting up at 5:30am when I've just had 6 weeks of waking up at 6:30am! But, that's something I've just got to do if I want any hope of shifting this weight!

Just wanted to also make a quick shout out to all of the North Americans who seem to frequent my blog, I love seeing all the funky places everyone comes from on my blog roll! Keep on visiting! :)

Have a great monday!

I think you're amazing to do a morning exercise class. You couldn't pay me enough to exercise that early in the morning!

Em :)

I've been thinking about the food diary thing again too - let's do it!

I'm still trying to convince myself to try spin - I will definitely do it by the end of the year.

Yeah...I think tracking is the go no matter what diet anyone is on or lapbanded or not. For some reason it just keeps you on the straight and narrow!!

Your blogs could not come at a better time for me! I have been experiencing the same problem as you describe over the past 3 1/2 weeks. Can't keep solids down more than 2-3 hours, terrible reflux at night, can't sleep in my own bed must sleep in my recliner! I had my lapband Feb. 23rd this year and have lost 50+ lbs. - I am thrilled! I mentioned your blog to my surgeon in reference to the possibility that I might need some of my fill taken out. I have only had one fill - 4 cc, @the middle of May - I don't understand why I am just now having a problem with solids - hmm? If you don't mind I would like to copy several of your entries and show them to my Doc. when I go back Sept. 9th

Congratulations on all your success, we're in this together! What a fabulous tool we have been given to "beat the blubber"!!

Old Hippie . . . well, maybe still old but not longer Hippie!!
